We’re all quite mad here, you’ll fit right in

Is it normal for an 18 year old girl to have an Alice in Wonderland tea party on her own? Because that’s what I did yesterday. And it was great fun.

Ok, so I did actually have a reason for carrying all of this stuff into the woods- mainly for my photography exam next week (see this is how unorganised I am- my exam is next week and I only just started taking photos oops), but I thought I’d share some of the unedited original images with you before I completely ruin them next week with my appalling photoshop skills. Haha!

To be honest I did get a few weird looks from dog walkers. And that was probably wasn’t just down to the fact that I was taking pictures of cake, but because to get into the mindset of the mad hatter, I thought it would be a fantastic idea to walk around the woods wearing a top hat. I definitely think they should come into fashion- I would totally jump on that trend, haha!

I went back to the woods again today, and looked equally as insane, but it’s ok. The pictures from today’s adventure will be up very soon!

Ahh it feels good to be back! 🙂

À bientôt!!

Hi guys,

I’m in the middle of portfolio/coursework madness, but I feel so so bad about not updating for ages.

So here is an adorable little animation that I stumbled across a few days ago, it’s cute so if you have a spare 5 minutes give it a watch 🙂

I should be back to normal posts this week hopefully!!

Thanks for sticking with me ❤

Weekly style inspiration- Alexa Chung

This week’s style inspiration post has to go to the lovely Alexa Chung. Alexa is an English model/tv presenter, and her style is, in my opinion, perfect.

She tends to be rather androgynous, sticking to dark colours and showing a passion for wearing tailored suits, making her style a very distinctive one. Many people find this charming however, with multiple influential people including Karl Lagerfeld  and Vogue’s Anna Wintour describing her as “a phenomenon” and “the Kate Moss of the new generation”.

And of course we cant forget the famous handbag brand Mulberry, that designed, and named the much sought after “Alexa” bag in her honour.

She’s gorgeous and I’m obviously completely jealous.

What do you guys think of Alexa’s style?

(its 5 minutes to midnight, this still counts as a friday post right?) haha!

See you again tomorrow~

À bientôt!!

Anyone for tea?

Today has been so boring.

I went to work for 6 hours, as I do every sunday, but today it was just completely dead. I had one customer. And they only spent £40. What a waste of a day.

Anyway, thanks to that I had a looong time to think about what my post for today would be about, and, seeming as I had so much time to kill, it’s ended up as a post about the brand I work for. Haha!

I work in a department store called Williams and Griffin, and, to be honest, it is a really lovely place (actually, a few years back it beat Harrods for the ‘independant department store of the year award’ ooh hah). Funny story actually, I was almost born at this shop because my mum worked there when she was pregnant with me, and I obviously just decided it would be fun to be born two months early, so she was at work when she went in to labour (sorry mum).

I work for Waterford Crystal, Wedgwood and Royal Dolton China. They really make some pretty stuff (and most of it is extremely girly, which, as you probably know by now, I am a huge sucker for). My favourite things are the really dainty tea cups and tea pots, they’re just so cute ok.

Ok and now i’ll stop boring you haha!! I hope you all had lovely weekends, apparently its supposed to snow this week which will mean complete chaos because this country literally can’t deal with snow.

Have a nice monday!

Going Dotty

Recently I’ve become a huuuuge fan of polka dot nails. They’re cute and I think that they look nice with any outfit.

I’m one of these people that seriously sucks at painting my nails. It always takes me like 3 hours, and FORGET ever doing a french manicure because that never goes right. One hand always turns out perfect, and the other is always a disaster. Plus i’m too impatient with letting them dry, they end up chipped and smudged in less than an hour.

So, why would you listen to anything I have to say about nails when I suck so majorly at them I hear you ask? Well, I’ve found a really simple way of achieving polka dots, that even I can do, so here it is!

I dont have any nail art tools at home, so previously I was just getting my white polish and dabbing it onto my nails to create dots, but they always ended up different sizes and because some had a lot of varnish blobbed on, of course i smudged them before I finished painting my whole hand. Not a good look.

IMG_3506So, i have made a really easy DIY nail dotter. Instead of spending like £8 on a profesional nail dotter (which i’m sure are wonderful), all you need is a pencil with an eraser on the top and a dressmaking pin.

Poke the pin into the eraser on top of the pencil and voilà! There you have your homemade nail dotter.

I am actually really pleased with the results you can get by using something so simple. I’ve had my nails polka dotty for about 5 weeks in a row now, and I’ve even had customers at work compliment me on them, and then ask where I got them done. That’s a big deal for me ok, because my nails usually look terrible haha!

Here are a few photos~

Pastel nail colours are my absolute favourite, with pinks and muted colours literally taking over my nail polish collection, and I really love glittery top coats (even if that does make it impossible to take your nail varnish off). I’m such a girly girl its almost unreal haha!

I’ve been really tempted lately to buy one of the gel nail kits, as I’ve seen some great reviews on youtube… maybe that shall be one of my investments for the new year!

So, what are your favourite nail trends or colours, and are any of you as useless at nails as I am? (probably not haha)

I hope all your mondays weren’t too hideous…
